These are 2amp power adapters for USB devices. I prefer 2a over the 1a because some devices need 2a and some need 1a. If you plug in a 1a device this charger into this charger it will work because the devices are designed to only draw as much power as they need – but if you plug in a 2a device into a 1a charger then you’re only getting half the power and will take twice as long to charge or won’t work at all such as iPads.

I bought these for my daughter to use (10/2020). Last month one of them broke open when she tried to unplug it and it started sparking. Luckily the breaker quickly tripped. I tossed it in the trash and thought it must have just been the rare chance of getting a faulty one. I should have known better. Today the second one came apart when the extension cord it was plugged into got pulled.. the USB cord was connected to an led light.. so instead of the slight pull on the cord disconnecting the USB plug or pulling the prongs out of the extension cord, the prongs stayed in the extension cord and the USB module came apart. This left the metal connectors exposed with a live current. My daughter reached for it instinctively thinking she just needed to put it back together. Luckily I was in the room and saw what happened and stopped her from touching it until I disconnected the extension cord from the outlet. I get that these were cheap and I shouldn’t expect much, but these plugs, at least the batch I got, are dangerous.
