Top Positive Review

I purchased this with the hopes that I will never need to use it. I am still within my four years but will update this review more thoroughly if the time comes that I need to make a claim. I did research the terms on how to initiate or setup this plan, and I understand the process to be automated and requires nothing more to activate the protection plan. Good job Amazon and Asurion on making this an easy product to purchase.

Customer Questions & Answers

Will it transfer 8mm cassettes from a Sony camcorder to dvd
Answer: It will. I used it to transfer all manner of tapes to DVD. The thing that got me angry was the fact that the machine would not transfer photos in order, that there was no way to make it do so, and that no one bothered to tell me before I bought it. Then it was too late.

Can it record from a sd card out of a sony fdr-ax33 4k camcorder. if so how because it won??t recognize the two sd 4k cards i have
Answer: Because these recorders were made way before 4k and they only recognize older cards. Download the manual from the Sony website and it will tell you which cards it is compatible with.

When i put in my blank sony dvd+r into the unit it says ??insert dvd created by this unit?? anybody know what this means? or what it??s telling me this ?
Answer: I have sold hundreds of these recorders and below is the link to the dvd’s I buy to test them with. If these dvd’s do not work the problem is with the recorder;

Will this device burn during the event ( live feed via camera )
Answer:

If the camera is plugged to the dvdirect and a dvd is in the dvdirect it will record, but it`s better to film with the camera and then plug the camera to it and make your dvd. This is the 3rd one I have owned. Right now my dvdirect is making my dvds a little darker then they show on the camera. I`m gonna get another o??

can any camcorder work with this, such as a Sharp brand, or does it have to be a sony camera/camcorder?
Answer: Any camcorder with an RCA AV output. It will also work with things like Video game consoles, VCRs, etc.
