Smelled weird on opening it, sickly sweet fishy smell like something died on it, really weird because it didn’t look dirty or opened. After washing and febreezing it, its a good case!. Cable works, although its usb only so you’ll need a wall adapter if you want to plug into wall. The memory card adapter works to let you use a large non-PS Vita (i.e., normal) memory card in the game card slot, which is helpful because PS Vita memory cards are very expensive, just be warned there is a process you must go through for this to work involving hacking the vita (thru apps, not hardware change) so you can use memory in the game card slot. The process is doable and there’s videos to show you step by step, but if you’d rather avoid all that then jusy get a PS Vita memory card.

It seemed like a good value but I am disappointed in the charging cable, I will not be using it, I have another after market that was ordered separately and it will too not be used. I tested them on a the Sonny official portable charger, which has the same input as a Vita and the power bank started flashing red and it felt very tight, I am glad the connector was not ripper, oh well I rather sacrifice a cable than the Vita.

So I think the set is ok value, since I ended up buying an OEM one on ebay and it works great

Answer: Yes, it has to be hacked to firmware 3.65 or lower. Your PS Vita needs to be downgraded to a lower firmware if you’re on anything higher than 3.65.
