Top Positive Review

IF YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND THE MFRS INSTRUCTIONS OR NEED A WIRING DIAGRAM , PERHAPS YOU NEED TO BUT SOMETHING ELSE OR NOT PROVIDE A NEGATIVE REVIEW…
1. The red wire becomes hot when the detector senses movement
2. The #16 wire has nothing to do with being safe for 120 volt: it is the load (amps) you are going to on the circuit that matters. #16 is rated in the NEC to carry 11 amps at 120 vac. In Europe #16 wire carries 22 amps at 220 vac. One amp is about the same as a 100 watt bulb.
3. . True, blue is not the standard color in the USA for the neutral. But that does not make it wrong. Just confusing to a person that probably shouldn’t be installing this device.
4. I installed a switch in parallel with the detectors so I can have an always on setting during a party. I had no feed back.
5. I plan to buy more of this item
6. The wires could stand to be 12 inches long.`
Hope this sets some things straight.

Not sure what to even say… I should have known better than to buy a cheap knockoff product, but I did and I regret it. Good luck getting this to thread into any fixtures, not sure what half inch measuring device they used, but this is way to small and way to short to fit any american device… Its wired with a 16 gauge wire, not safe at all for 110v power. Please do not purchase this item for outdoor use or for normal wall power. Maybe its safe for some 9v LED project.

Customer Questions & Answers

Is this meant to screw into a threaded electrical junction box hole? If so, what size is the (knock out) hole supposed to be?
Answer: It does NOT fit into a standard box hole but needs an adaptation. If you are handy you can figure it out, otherwise it’s a pain.

Is it weather (rain and snow) proof?
Answer: iT’S BEEN ON AN OUTSIDE WALL OF MY GARAGE FOR 10 MONTHS AND IS WOORKING RIGHT NOW. UNDER AN OVERHANG AND ALL WIRES ARE INSIDE THE BUILDING. WE HAD A RECORD BREAKING SPRING AND SUMMER FOR RAINFALL. WITH MY 300 WATT EQUIVALENT BULB UP THE NEIGHBOR HOOD WITHT 37 WATT USAGE. HAS TO BE WIRED TO LIGHT CORRECTLY. l

Can this be wired to a three way switch for manual control of the light ?
Answer: Will not work, this unit acts as a signal switch. One hot wire, one neutral and one control.

Will this sensor work for day and night.
Answer: It is a photocell that would normally not energize a device during daytime but would upon motion during the night. You can set it to essentially turn on the device (a light) at dusk and off at dawn.

Does it work for outdoor LED floodlights?
Answer: If your floodlight is 120 v. ac it will work.
