Purchased the 3-year extended warranty from Asurion for the DrJ portable DVD player I purchased from Amazon on Dec. 2, 2019. In October of 2020 the player stopped working, would not power up. I contacted Asurion and spoke to a male rep who simply told me that I would receive an Amazon gift card to cover the cost of the defective player. He NEVER mentioned to me that Asurion would be sending me a prepaid shipping label to return the defective player. He only told me that I would be getting the refund for the player in the gift card form from Amazon, that I would not be able to get the player repaired or replaced. After a few weeks of not receiving the gift card via mail or email I again contacted Asurion. This time I spoke to a female rep who advised me to return the defective player, that I would receive a prepaid shipping label to do so. I advised her that I had already disposed of the defective player as I had advised the male first rep I spoke with. She ignored my statement and kept reading her most likely scripted statement about the prepaid shipping label, etc. I have been trying to simply get my refund for weeks now, and Asurion places ALL the blame on me when the first rep of theirs gave me false information. They expected me to have recorded the transcript of that first male Asurion rep who gave me the wrong information. Don’t trust Asurion…not worth the trouble. Go straight to Amazon for a satisfactory result.
