Top Positive Review

I’ve been using this device since Feb 2017, to alert me to visitors approaching my door as well as cats needing to come back inside the house. It’s pretty great, and not that many options out there like it. There are a few caveats, but it has overall been a dependable product.

This is my second purchase. As I said, I bought one in 2017, but I also had to replace it in 2021 because my tweaker neighbor thought it was some sort of spy camera and decided to rip it down and stab it with a steak knife. But these things happen. The Kerui fought like a champ and alerted me all the while it was being stabbed to death.

I did notice one thing about my replacement Kerui sensor, and that is the electronics have been vastly simplified over the last 4 years. Importantly, there are no longer the two dip switches that enable you to configure setting the LED on/off, and setting the alert timeout between a 5 second or a 5 minute delay. It’s hard set to 5 seconds now and forever.

I notice that the spring used for the antenna is not actually soldered at both endpoints anymore. It is only pressed against a solder blob in the new design, which is probably why it stops working for a lot of people after several months. The spring probably weakens and loses its tension while hanging upside down bends away from the solder blob, losing contact. For anyone who experiences their sensor suddenly stop working, check to see if this is your issue.

It is a joke trying to use batteries in this thing. You’re not even given the option of AA batteries, but AAA batteries which are HALF the capacity yet cost the same $$$ at the store. I would instantly give this device a 7 star rating if it accepted a single lithium-ion 18650 cell. Take my money, please!

That said, I power both the base and the sensor via Micro USB cable, and keep batteries in there in the event of a power outage or a crack addicted next door neighbor wielding steak knives.

(yes, that really did happen).

More thoughts:

Like all PIR (passive infrared) sensors, this one is sensitive to direct sunlight and will be triggered by passing clouds or glares off of passing cars, so you have to fiddle with its placement outdoors. My wish list for an improved product include the following:

– It should use lithium-ion 18650 cells instead of AAA batteries for longer battery life, and USB power + recharging.

– It should bring back the 5 minute delay dip switch. 5 second non-stop dinging is very annoying when chatting with people at your doorstep.

– It should have a dip switch to be made less sensitive to sunlight and arrant false-alarms by only sending a signal to the remote base after 2 or 3 successive triggers in a short time period.

– Add a doppler microwave radar sensor to compliment the PIR sensor that can be used together or separately to detect motion. Nobody is currently selling a doppler sensor, even though they have recently become very cheap and can be found in automatic motion smart room lights. They can work through doors and are not bothered by sunlight.

Completely stopped working one day. Changed batteries in both parts, lights work but no chimes Didn’t even get 5 months use out of it. If someone from the company can contact me with any ideas on how to fix this it would be of great help

If i buy 3 set would they interfere with one another? If yes, is there a way to adjust it?(by changing the littkd black control?
Answer: Hi friend,

They won’t interfere each other because receiver needs to pair with motion sensor to work together and the receiver only pairs with 1 motion sensor in 1 set in the picture. Thanks.

I need one door bell and at least 2 chimers that I can make louder as I am hearing impaired. Which one do you suggest?
Answer:

Hi friend,

Receiver has 4 volume levels and volume can be adjusted, you can choose the kit with 1 receiver and 2 motion sensors or 2 receivers and 1 motion sensor, here are the links for your check. Thanks.

??

Can receiver be powered by computer usb port or cell phone charger?
Answer:

Yes, for both the receiver AND the sensor, if there is sufficient current available on the USB port.

I do not recommend using a computer USB port to power either device. Some computer USB ports have a maximum current draw of 0.5 amps (which should still be enough), but you would need to keep the ports powered by lea??

How do we change sounds, only says “hello welcome” in english or chinese?
Answer:

Hi friend,

There are 4 kinds of modes for the item: welcome, doorbell, alarm and night light. Please press M key to change into doorbell mode then press musical note keyto change songs according to manual, in doorbell mode, there are 32 songs for your choice.
