For starters. I??m not a gamer, so I can??t review based on how they work when gaming, but I sit at my home office all day long on the phone. Between the dog and just basic household / neighborhood noise, I needed something comfortable and noise cancelling to aid me through the day. I ordered these because of the price, not expecting much to be honest. I received them yesterday and they??ve been on pretty much since they arrived. They??re incredibly comfortable and the sound quality has been great, both outgoing and incoming! I??m impressed so far. Not the noise cancellation of a pair 4 times the price, but better than expected.

The price is right on these and there’s even a lot to like. For me the cons do not make this a deal-breaker, but they can’t be ignored. My intention for these was a gaming headset for a PS4

Pros:
-Cost: these are very affordable. Awesome!
-Construction: there’s a protective fabric liner on the cord to protect it from pinching, bending, etc and I like that a lot
-Mic quality: mic is adjustable and stays where I put it. It seems durable and also out-of-the-way enough that it’s not getting caught on anything. It sounds good to other players when I speak
-Cord: it’s nice and long, even though on a console you only need a couple feet, this one is 3′ so it has versatility for other devices
-Compatibility: I plug it in*, it works. YES.
-Bits and Bobs: I like how it has a button to kill the mic and adjust the volume. Also a dongle to make it compatible with devices that require separate audio/mic plugins.

Cons:
-Sound quality is BAD. Sounds like your listening to something in a cave.
-Uncomfortable: The ear cups are not adjustable, and the band that rests on the crown of your head is HUGE. I have a big melon on me, so typically I need to size up. But these things, adjusted as small as they would go, still have about a half-inch between the top of my head and the band, so they slump down and the ear cups rest on my ears. So my ears are taking the weight of the whole headset rather than being spread over the band/top of my head. It makes them very uncomfortable, especially if I’m wearing them for an extended period. A fix would be to add onto the range of adjustment so the band can be reduced even more, *AND* the ear cups need a pivot to fit over(rather than ON) the ears.

These cons don’t render the headset unusable, but those are some weighty cons. Buyer beware.

The microphone is not working on my sons nintendo switch. although it does work on my husbands phone. why would that be?
Answer: We had the same problem at first. We could hear but mic wasn??t working. Go into which ever game ur playing setting and then turn on the mic features. Worked perfectly after that!

How did you get the mic to work on the Nintendo switch?
Answer: For me it was plug and play, but check in the settings both in the console and whatever game you are playing. Also, never hurts to make sure the mic switch is in the on position.

So does the Xbox one s and x need the adapter?
Answer: I only have the One S and it does NOT need an adapter.
