Top Positive Review

I live in New York City, on the Upper West side, in an area predominantly serviced by a notoriously bad internet service monopoly (I won’t name any names, here..). Ever since moving to a new apartment, I had several internet connectivity issues due to extremely poor signal coming from a router which was connected to a fixed short cable next to wall, which prevented me from moving the router around and putting it on a table. Dropped internet. Painfully slow internet. Horrible uploading/downloading speeds. You name it, I experienced it.

This product has been a game changer. It not only allows me the flexibility to move the router to an ideal location, but preserves the wifi signal EXCEPTIONALLY well. For the price, the product value is unbeatable.

Top Critical Review

Installed a 50-ft coax plus a 15-ft coax coupled via a straight barrel to run from the incoming service splitter to my new modem/router location. Had issues with poor upload speeds, generally in the 0.7 – 2 Mb/s range. Had Spectrum service out and the tech showed graph of acceptable download S/N but poor S/N for upload. He pulled in new RG6 and problem resolved. Unfortunately, he cut the 50-ft cable so I can no longer return it. (I’m not a fan of parts replacers that can’t give an explanation of why they replaced a part but it works: in this case, why the download S/N was OK but not upload.)

The cable looked fine, with the factory-applied connectors and signal wire also looking to be good (not bent, and extended the proper amount). So whether it was one of the four connector ends or the barrel between them, I’ll never know. Perhaps the bright side is they didn’t charge for replacing the cable.

As this is a low voltage signal only cable it should be fine to use inside a wall. If you will be driving screws or nails into the wall there should be some sort of armor platin g to prevent accidental puncturing of the cable that would render it useless of impair performance.
