My only problem was figuring out that I needed software to run it (thru Windows 10). Once I figured this out, I am all set.
Perhaps, a little more instructions on loading the Windows 10 driver.

After further digging and running my multi meter on this product to see if its even getting power I have come to the conclusion they are slapping parts from “recycled” dvd drives OR printing cheap circuit boards throwing some chips on there and soldering new connecters etc (or other methods there are multiple ways to do this) to them and slapping them in a case to make them seem new IT DOES NOT WORK.

What’s worse is all these PAID 5 star reviews are hiding the truth reviews that NEED TO BE SEEN.

Got this dvd drive first one in awhile my older hp usb dvd drive works but its old and has its own power issues.

So I ordered this one with hopes of it working so I could make backups of important stuff that’s stored on dvd’s to a usb drive when I first plugged it in windows dinged showed a unknown device but it was active tried to open drive bay multiple times and nothing.

So I ordered a usb to usbc adaptor assuming it just might not have enough power got that today plugged it in didn’t even get a windows notification this time.

So I ran a scan for unknown devices updated drivers etc (this is a brand new pc just got it in January everything was up to date but being a 20+ year pc tech I started with basics)

Attempted to open the drive again no luck used a pin to pop it open manually threw a old but clean blank dvd in it with hopes something would happen and nothing.

So I pulled out my laptop attempted to run it through the laptop and see what happens same issue windows dinged showed something there but wouldn’t open or do anything it was supposed to do.

Just to make sure it wasn’t my systems I plugged in my old hp portable drive to both systems and it functioned about as best as it could for being a 13+yr old drive that’s moved from coast to coast with me.

I supplied power to the drive using a usb tester I have and it still wouldn’t open or function attempted the same with my older hp dvd drive and it functioned the best it could.

When it comes down to it this drive does not work period I’m going to pull it apart and run a multimeter and see if its shorting or just not getting the power it should my suspicions is someone took some optical drive parts from a older drive slapped stuff together in a different casing and is trying to sell it.

I could be 100% wrong but judging by the way everything is acting its not too far fetched and if I am wrong I will come back and change my review after further testing at this point it cost so little I don’t care about any “warranty” or anything and I don’t care about a refund I just want to dig deeper and see if I can trace any serial numbers and parts installed in this case.

Still nothing wont power nothing all these reviews with 5 stars I suspect are paid reviews which is against TOS I see multiples of this product not working what so ever but they get buried QUICK with the 5 star reviews to hide the truth….

PEOPLE IF YOUR BEING PAID TO REVIEW THIS PRODUCT AND NEVER USED IT YOU NEED TO BE HONEST AND COME FORWARD NOW PEOPLE ARE LOOSING MONEY ON SOMETHING THAT DOES NOT WORK PERIOD YOU ARE HELPING THEM STEAL FROM INNOCENT PEOPLE.

Answer: Connect it to your computer, laptop, or raspberry pi. Then connect that computer to your TV. May not be the answer you’re looking for, but it will work.

if you get a 6″ X 6″ that will be slightly larger then the drive itself.
