Answer: OFFERS AN EXPANDABLE ALARM SYSTEM – You can add up to 16 different transmitters to the DCR-4000 Receiver if you wish to monitor a larger perimeter. DCMA-4000 is not compatible with 2500 or 3000 series products.

The unit I have only has a power cable for the interior unit. The exterior “sensor” unit has no cables. You may be confusing this model with one that has a pressure sensor that lies on or under the ground. This model uses an optical/thermal sensor to detect motion across the driveway.
