I recently purchased a $ 500.00 Lumix camera and included the ASURION 3 Year Camera Accident Protection Plan. I’m used to the advice that insurance on purchases are not worth it but convinced myself to get it “just in case”. I was thrilled with the camera and went to the studio to take some photos of art works that I’ve produced. I hooked lip the camera to the tripod and stupidly didn’t tighten the base that secured it to the camera base. Doing a high view of a piece of jewelry the camera I tilted it down and it slipped off the tripod and landed on a concrete floor on the front end of the lens. The focus function was destroyed. I got the information I needed from Asurion about the claim and sent the camera to the repair center they provided. After about two weeks I called and asked how long it would take and was told they would call if they needed anything more from me and would contact me with their decision on the condition from the repair shop. They contacted me the next week and I was informed that the camera was not able to be fixed and gave me a code to use at Amazon to refund the purchased price to get a replacement. It just so happened that Lumix had just introduced a new version of the camera I initially purchased that cost about $300.00 more than I spent on the last older Lumix camera. I used the insurance refund added $300. more and ordered the newest version Lumix. And did you ask, did I buy another ASURION 3 Year Camera Accident Protection Plan with Tech Support $800-899.99? Absolutely! , It is worth it and the new camera is fantastic.

This protection does not work for “International versions” they state the product needs a manufacturer warranty, or at least a seller warranty to provide the protection.

You will see the option to select it on international version products with out warranty, do not buy it.
