My cable internet was sucking, up and down all the time. Saw on some forum that the modem has a secret IP address (192.168.100.1) to see what’s going on with it, and it was spewing errors. I changed out the thin, it-probably-came-with-some-tv cable for this. Now the internet works great!

My package came with the expected 3 cables in a strong box with no damage. All 3 of the cables were labelled with the statement that they were tested with a sweep up to 3 GHz. I picked the best looking of the 3, as 2 of the cables were slightly crimped at the end the way they package them into loops. Well, after about 3 hours of debugging my internet connection (after replacing the cable that goes to my cable modem) I noticed that the cable I happened to choose dropped the signal significantly!!! The spec for the cable modem generally asks to be at least -5 dBmV, but with this installed my cable modem was reporting power levels of -20 to -25dBmV. I switched cables back and forth multiple times to see that it tracked the cables and was not a fluke.

Do not buy these cables unless you are ok getting some dead ones and have the equipment to properly test the cables beforehand. This would have been a disaster if I had placed it in the wall first.

can this cable be used with fios?
Answer: I have Fios coming into my house and I use this type cable thru out my house

does not say whether copper clad steel or pure copper center conductor. Which is it?
Answer: My cable is marked “CCS” so I believe it to be copper clad steel

Solid copper core cable or steel with copper clad core? the specs ignore this info, the picture of the cable (guess as required bylaw) mention ccs!
Answer: Copper-clad. You have to pay more for solid copper.

Which compression connectors work with this cable?
Answer: Used twist on connectors with a drop of gorilla glue, I think this holds better and does not crush the cable.
