No where on the cables is it marked to be SATA III or 6Gbits/sec. I used them for a few days and not seeing the speeds I expected I jumped over to the egg and ordered actual SATA III cables .. the increase in speeds was very noticeable. Now even Tim would be smilin’ … more power!
I won’t bother returning these, keep them for emergency backup … when speed doesn’t matter. Most likely they will just get old and dusty sitting in my box of spare parts. And yes I feel ripped off.
Recommend them? No way.

Do i actually get the sata iii speeds with a normal motherboard? or do i need to buy a special motherboard or something that has sata iii capabilities
Answer: Mainly you need a matherboard tha support sataIII,a disk thar support sataIII,then a cable like this one that connect those things all together.you can connect different standard(satai,ii,iii) and will be used the lower one.
Will this work for Xbox one s?
Answer: If you are connecting externally, then no. Usually external SATA connections use eSATA, which the Xbox also does not use. You should find a USB 3 storage device and cable.
Do the cable connectors have the internal bumps that WD recommends for their Red drives so that the cable attaches snuggly?

Answer:
Depends on how your case is laid out. If the case is crowded, it may be difficult to get the motherboard side of the cable connected (both ends are the same but you’ll connect one to the drive and one to the motherboard). This isn’t a fault of the cable, of course. I will say that the locking clips keep the cable conne??
