That was a shocking discovery as it “enhances” the manufacturer’s warranty for the first year.

So, if you purchase a three year package, you actually only get two more years added to the original manufacturer’s.

Thats crappy and possibly misleading advertising.

Answer: 459 Joules

Just bought apc 1500va. plugged one thing, a printer into it. upon printing it emits a grumble followed by screach that lasts the entire print time?
Answer: You should not plug a laser printer in a UPS for battery backup. Look on the back of the UPS – if there are outlets that provide surge protection only, without battery backup, plug it in there. If no outlets on the UPS indicate that they are surge only, then don’t plug it in!

Is this is an “online” type ups, i.e., the batteries provide the power and are continually recharged during use?
Answer: This is not a true, double conversion online UPS. The APC ??Smart-UPS Online?? series I believe would have the benefits you??re speaking of.

Is it too loud for leaving room?
Answer: Actually it??s pretty much silent unless the power goes out – then it will beep to let you know it??s running on batteries. So, yes, you can have it in your living room without worry.

What does the plug look like for the apc 3000va. just want to make sure i have the electrician install the right outlet. l5-30p?
